Google Pixel 8 Android update status

Currently: Android 15

When Google Pixel 8 launched, it shipped with Android 14, but has since been updated to Android 15 (15 Oct 2024). This phone was originally released on 10 / 2023.

Beta versions and unofficial versions

There's an official Android beta for Google Pixel 8 available. The Android 16 beta is official beta from the phone's manufacturer, but it is not recommended for everyone. You should install beta version of the operating system only if you understand the possible associated risks.

Upcoming updates?

Expected: Android 16, Android 17, Android 18, Android 19, Android 20 and Android 21

Google has promised to deliver these major Android versions for Google Pixel 8: Android 16, Android 17, Android 18, Android 19, Android 20 and Android 21.

However, this is only the manufacturer's promise, as far as we know - Google might release even further updates to the phone later or might end support earlier on.
